Regular Groups
With a range of regular groups and activities happening weekly or monthly, we would love to have you join us!
We have a selection of groups appropriate for different ages and interests within the wider community.
And a range of indoor and outdoor activities and events to suit everyone: old and young, families, singles and couples.
Meeting Place
Monday Evenings 7pm
Mainly for overseas students connected with Derby University
Meets mostly at Alkmund's around
food-based socialising, but also organises outdoor events and cultural experiences
Little Nippers
Wednesday mornings 10am
For under 5's and their
parent or carer
Meets in term time at Alkmund's for free play, singing and story time, giving the opportunity for parents and carers to meet and chat
Community Living Room
Wednesdays 10.30-2.30
West End Community Centre
Mackworth Road
Toast & cakes, hot drinks, with free Community Lunch at midday.
Friendly atmosphere with jigsaws and games and chance to chat.
Sew n Sew
Thursday mornings 10am
For anyone who loves the creativity of quilting, knitting, crocheting, etc.
Meets mainly at Alkmund's where there's space for those larger (and smaller) sewing projects. Tea, chatter and mutual sewing support included.
Storehouse
Fridays 10.00-11.30
For the more vulnerable
in our local community
Meets every week at Alkmund's for a hot breakfast roll, plenty of tea and coffee, and a warm place to gather.
Also fortnightly foodbank provision.
ND Women's Living Room
Alternate Fridays 6.30pm
An inclusive neurodivergent
women's social group (18+)
Meets at Alkmund's. This is a friendly, judgement-free space where you are welcome to chat or relax with mindful art, crafts and sensory activities.
Pizza Place
1st Fridays 3.30-5.00pm
Pizza making and community building for all ages
Meets at Alkmund's on the first Friday of the month. Pop along to make pizza, stay as long as you like. Donation of £1 encouraged.
Big Bible Questions (BBQ)
2nd Tuesdays 1.45-3.15pm
Digging deeper into the bible, sharing and discovering its riches
Meets at Alkmund's. A group where folks come having read and reflected on a scripture topic with the help of background info and questions.
Whispering Book Club
Last Fridays 7.30pm
Where anyone and any book are welcome
Meeting at Alkmund's on the last Friday of the month. This is a friendly space where you get to read your book in the company of others.
